The American Legion Family
Who can join?
The Legion family is bigger than just the veterans themselves — there's a place for the people who stand beside them too.
Legionnaires
Honorably-discharged U.S. veterans of any era. Under the LEGION Act of 2019, if you served at any point from December 7, 1941 to the present and were honorably discharged, you are eligible.
American Legion Auxiliary
Spouses, mothers, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters of qualifying veterans.
Sons of The American Legion (SAL)
Male descendants — sons, grandsons, great-grandsons, and stepsons — of members of The American Legion or qualifying veterans.
How To Join
Three steps.

Confirm Eligibility
If you served honorably any time from Pearl Harbor onward, you qualify. Family members can join through the Auxiliary or SAL.

Apply Online
The fastest way is on the American Legion's national membership site. Select Forbes-McKay Post 109 (Windsor, CO) when prompted.

Stop By the Post
Come down to 624 Ash St., introduce yourself at the bar, and let us welcome you to the Post family.
